Blood clot signs and symptoms will vary depending on the area of the body that is affected by the blood clot as well as the exact location within the body in which the blood clot forms.
The formation of blood clots can cause serious complications to a person’s health. In some cases the flow of blood may be limited or blocked making it difficult if not impossible for blood to flow through the arteries freely. These clots form in arteries and can be located almost anywhere in the body. How this affects a person is largely dependent on where the blood clot is located. There are times when blood clots can be life threatening or become fatal when left untreated.
Blood clots in the brain prevent the flow of blood to the brain. When this happens for more than a few minutes the cells of the brain begin to die.
