Heart Healthy Foods for the Vegetarians
We always knew that oily fish is good for people who want to keep their hearts healthy. But what should you be indulging in if you recently turned vegetarian or if you’ve always been a vegetarian?
Here is our list of vegetarian foods that are healthy for your heart.
Berries:
Strawberries and cranberries, along with other berries, are known to be rich in antioxidants. Antioxidants are known to reduce a person’s risk of being affected by heart diseases. They also help in stress reduction and thus keep high blood pressure risks at bay. Tomatoes, prunes, green tea and red bell peppers are great sources of antioxidants. Fruits that contain high amounts of water (watermelon for instance) are said to be recommended as they are known to contain an extremely powerful antioxidant called lycopene.
Nuts:
